Welcome to Navarro Elementary. It is a privilege to be a member of this district and community and to serve as the district's registered nurse to all the campuses within Navarro ISD. With over 20 years of nursing experience, including my role as a school nurse since 2013, I understand the vital link between health and learning.
Our mission focuses on educating students about healthy choices and self-care. School nurses, committed to ethical and evidence-based practices, serve as essential leaders who connect healthcare and education, coordinate care, advocate for student-centered services, and collaborate to create systems that enable individuals and communities to reach their full potential. In Texas, school nurses have addressed the intricate physical and mental health challenges faced by students, particularly as more children enter school with complex medical needs. Here at Navarro ISD we continually seek methods to align available resources with student needs in developing effective health services. We are dedicated to assisting you and your child in navigating educational and health-related challenges. We encourage you to keep us updated on any medical conditions that may arise and how we can support your child's success in school.
I also invite you to actively participate in the School Health Advisory Council, which helps ensure that local community values are integrated into health education. Furthermore, SHACs are instrumental in enhancing the relationship between health and learning, empowering parents and community members to reinforce the essential knowledge and skills children require for lifelong health. To find out more information about our campus or the health service department please visit our website, send us an email or give us a call. We look forward to a healthy school year.
Healthy Children Learn Better.
